Old Style Military Outfit

I recall Josh appearing at our door dressed in his red military outfit. I remember that he did this on several Halloween nights... and his face always beamed with joy when Rita and I commented on how great he looked. That was pretty special.

Preparing the Garden

Josh provided a lot of help to Rita in preparing our gardens for planting of flowers - everything from moving and installing 4x4 borders, turning the soil to weeding. I know that Rita appreciated his work ethic - head down and forge ahead.

My Welding Buddy

I miss Josh for the many times we used to drive together to attend welding classes at Algonquin College. Here again Josh was totally focused on doing his best... while I might go for a break, Josh stayed at his work bench perfecting his skill. I must say that I was impressed by his attitude. Driving home together was fun too and we relaxed and talked about all sorts of things.

Rita and I remember Josh and we miss him.

We are still dazed with the news... it takes some getting used to as we just saw Bob, Sharon, Sara, Rebecca and Josh only a few weeks ago in Ottawa. Josh used to help Rita remove weeds from our garden and it seems to me that Josh himself had cleared the weeds from his life and was just beginning to blossom. It's cruel that he was cut down so prematurely and it hurts. Our prayers go with Josh and with Bob, Sharon, Sara, Rebecca and Edith - who we know so well. Story shared: Welding Adventures

Josh was my cross street neighbour in Ottawa. My hobby was welding and he came over several times to see what I was doing. Next thing I knew, he was off to welding school in Toronto... when he returned, he stick-welded way better than me! We went together for 10 Tuesday nights to TIG welding classes at Algonquin College. One night returning from class, my car broke down and we had quite an adventure getting home - so we were bursting to tell everyone the news as we walked around the corner of my house... to see flashing lights everywhere = police cars, fire engines, ambulance and all our families out in the street! Seems a car had slammed into a house! Well our 'big news' was pretty small potatoes compared to this.

Josh was fun to be around, always considerate, curious and outgoing. I'll miss him for certain.

Dear Sharon, Bob, Rebecca and Sarah Very very sorry to hear about Josh. Words really are inadequate right now. One short memory to maybe bring a little smile. It is Stampede time out here again and it is impossible to think about Stampede without thinking about the many free breakfasts and lunches we went to. Remember we would load all the kids, strollers and wagons into vehicles and head out. Long lines or light rain didn't stop us and while all the kids were excited it was Joshua who was most enthusiastic. So bubbly and happy to be in the middle of things, he enjoyed himself to the limit. His happiness was contagious. We are thinking of you.

As a family we have always been spread out across Canada but we have always been kept updated on our family members. I remember Josh as a newborn he was bright, cheerful and made all around him full of love and life. As a child he was always helpful, with a thirst to learn and explore. As a teen his thirst for knowledge continued both in school and church, he thrived on helping those less fortunate and those in his daily life. As a young man Josh was still bright, cheerful, helpful, seeking knowledge, and proud of both his accomplishments and those of his family. Last time I spoke with Josh he was so excited to explore the next chapter of his life.
